Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy
What can I expect in our first session together?
Our first meeting is a gentle starting point and intake for services. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important to you right now. You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with, and we’ll move at your pace.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific concern, while others choose to stay longer for ongoing support and growth. We’ll check in together regularly about how therapy is feeling and what you need.
Is what I share truly confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is deeply important. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few legal exceptions for safety (such as if someone is in immediate danger). I’ll always be transparent about these limits so you know exactly what to expect.
How do I know if therapy is working for me?
Progress can look like small but meaningful shifts—feeling a bit more hopeful, reacting differently in stressful moments, or noticing more self-compassion. We’ll talk openly about what you’re noticing and adjust our work together as needed.
Do I really need therapy if I don't have a 'big' problem?
Therapy isn’t only for crises. It can be a supportive space to explore patterns, process stress, and better understand yourself. If you’re wondering whether therapy could help, that curiosity alone is a meaningful reason to reach out.
What is the first step to getting started?
The first step is simply reaching out. You can book a session through the site or contact me directly with any questions. From there, we’ll schedule a time to meet and begin exploring what support could look like for you.
